![]() You're clinically depressed, and in need of help. If you don't come away feeling good about the world after this one, go find yourself a mental health expert. This is a fine mix of established veteran actors and new young fresh faces presenting a story that has a great deal of depth. No token characters, so if you're expecting to find an LGBT character, or a minority where one wouldn't normally expect one to be present, or a car chase, explosion, shoot-out, bad cops, or any of the other Hollywood tropes we're seeing elsewhere, or anything else coming off the assembly line. Well written, acted, directed, and with an outstanding soundtrack. I read many of the negative reviews before I watched this film, one the entire family could enjoy, and that's what moved this movie to the top of my 'watch this next' list. We need more movies like this one, and far less of all the negative 'whoopie, we're all terrible people, so let's all get killed' junk Hollywood is so fond of these days. If you like good storytelling and a convincing cast of actors who know their craft I think you'll enjoy "Finding You" it's a great companion film to "Wild Mountain Thyme" I actually enjoyed this movie more. The film was shot in Ireland, in and around Dublin, Clare, Offaly, Kildare, Cooley and Carlingford, Co. Jones are the Irish music and culture as well as the delightful scenery. The other delights in "Finding You" a film based on a 2011 young adult novel There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. In "Finding You." Vanessa Redgrave is totally believable as an old Irish woman ,who even though frail and ill is witty ,wise and so touching her performance is dignified not depressing at all. Like her contemporary Glenda Jackson she still has that magic ability to be totally immersed and convincing in any role. It goes without saying that Vanessa Redgrave is one of the finest actresses to ever stand in front of a camera her long film career from the early 1960's till today has some of the finest moments on the screen. Generations collide at first but as Cathleen's story develops Finley sets off on a mission to try and resolve bitter family resentments to help Cathleen's end of life wish happen. The cherry on top of the cake for me in "Finding You "is Vanessa Redgrave as Cathleen Sweeney an old woman with "attitude " who Finley is reluctantly assigned to read and keep company in Cathleen's final days to obtain her degree. Their friendship grows after a bumpy start and Finley's total disinterested and untrusting attitude to his lifestyle and hangers on. Jedidiah Goodacre is charismatic and also not known to me cast as Finley Sinclair's famous hunk movie star turned and self elected tour guide between filming his dragon slayer latest epic. Rose Reid as the violinist Finley Sinclair who's tracing her deceased brothers pilgrimage to Ireland in search for answers to her own issues gives a delightful and fresh performance. The two romantic leads who I've never heard of Rose Reid and Jedidiah Goodacre are a charming movie match. An unexpected romance emerges as the heartthrob Beckett leads the uptight Finley on an adventurous reawakening, and she emboldens him to take charge of his future, until the pressures of his stardom get in the way. She meets Beckett, (Jedidiah Goodacre) a famous young movie star, on the way to her college semester abroad program in a small coastal village in Ireland. Some lovely performances in "Finding You" it's a simple plot Finley Sinclair ( Rose Reid) is a talented aspiring violinist who's failed yet another important audition so travels to Ireland to rethink her aspirations. ![]() I ask these questions 1- Did the story interest me ? Were the Characters interesting and well acted ? Was it well directed and most importantly was I able to relate emotionally to the Screenwriter and Directors vision? The Director and Screenwriter of "Finding You."is Brian Baugh I'm not familiar with his work but will be keen to see more if it's as entertaining as this film. I rate films with the same formula doesn't matter the genre whether they're great Adventure Epics, Romantic Comedies, Crime or Sci Fi Thrillers or Contemporary Dramas. Sound boring ? I wasn't bored for a minute and any film that features the glorious Irish countryside and culture usually is like a Pot o' Gold for me at the end of the Rainbow so it must be my Irish Ancestry. How refreshing to watch a movie on a Cinema Screen that's uplifting and entertaining I didn't hear the "F" word once everyone kept their gear on and the script was intelligent and humorous. Too much pain can compost itself into depression. Perhaps depression can best be described as emotional pain that forces itself on us against our will, and then breaks free of its externals. This is in part a social and medical phenomenon, but it is also the result of linguistic Highly politicized rhetoric has blurred the distinction between depression and its consequences - the distinction between how you feel and how you act in response. It can at best be contained - and containing is all that current treatments for depression aim to do. The only feeling left in this loveless state is insignificance. The meaninglessness of every enterprise and every emotion, the meaninglessness of life itself, becomes self-evident. Love forsakes us from time to time, and we forsake love. Some love others and some love work and some love God: any of these passions can furnish that vital sense of purpose that is the opposite of depression. In good spirits, some love themselves and Medications and psychotherapy can renew that protection, making it easier to love and be loved, and that is why they work. Love, though it is no prophylactic against depression, It is the aloneness within us made manifest, and it destroys not only connection to others but also the ability to be peacefully alone with oneself. When it comes, it degrades one's self and ultimately eclipses the capacity to give or To be creatures who love, we must be creatures who can despair at what we lose, and depression is the mechanism of that despair. Hunters are also subject to such things as aging, sickness and injuries in ways that angels aren't. However, angels are also lucky in the sense that they have fewer weaknesses when it comes to being injured, except by certain weapons, than hunters. They also don't have to worry about things such as permission to take a vessel or possible expulsion from a vessel. Hunters know the specific kinds of weapons and sigils that can affect angels in a negative way, changing or affecting their abilities. Just because angels have helped out against other angels, doesn't mean they're immune to the same weaknesses as their brothers and sisters. Yes, Supernatural fans have seen Castiel and other angels (or archangels) work on the side of the Winchesters, but their existences are still governed by a set of rules separate from those which apply to humans.
